Fitness for this itinerary
A high level of fitness is required for this tour. Travellers must be able to move about independently, including boarding and disembarking transportation, climbing stairs and walking for extended periods over uneven terrain and steep inclines.

Some walking tours may exceed three hours in duration and cover more than five kilometres at a steady pace. Several locations feature uneven surfaces, slopes and varying altitudes, and travellers should be comfortable standing for extended periods while sightseeing.

This itinerary includes multiple early morning departures, long touring days, internal flights and train journeys. Accommodation outside Lima is generally in smaller hotels that may not have elevators, requiring guests to navigate stairs to access their rooms.

Several days of the tour are spent at high altitude, including locations at approximately 3350 metres above sea level, with the highest elevation reaching 3810 metres in Puno. Extended exposure to high altitude may result in symptoms such as headaches, nausea, fatigue and dizziness. Travellers with pre-existing medical conditions or concerns about altitude should consult their doctor before departure.

This tour is not suitable for travellers requiring wheelchairs, mobility scooters or specialised facilities. Other mobility aids may be permitted where travellers are able to move independently and maintain the pace of the group.

If you have any health concerns or require special assistance, please advise us at the time of booking so we can help determine whether this tour is suitable for you and arrange any necessary support requests.

Entry to Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu uses a timed-entry system and designated visitor circuits to manage daily visitor numbers. Your included visit will be allocated to one of these circuits, with Circuit 2 requested wherever possible due to its popular viewpoints and route through the site. As permits are limited and subject to availability, specific circuits and entry times cannot be guaranteed. Travellers booking closer to departure may be allocated a different circuit or entry time from the main group.

Internal flights on tour
This tour includes three internal flights within Peru. Due to the flight schedules available, travel between Cusco and Puno requires a connection via Lima rather than a direct service. Some days may therefore involve early starts and longer travel times.

Cabin Type/Description Confirmed: You are guaranteed a stateroom within the stateroom type you have booked (or higher).
