Spend two days sailing across the Denmark Strait enroute to Greenland. This route was once taken by Viking explorer, Erik the Red, who is credited as the first European to have settled there. Your two-day journey is a great opportunity to immerse in the educational lectures and science programmes onboard your ship.
Arriving in the spectacular and wild South Greenland region, spend the next four days in adventure mode. Enjoy landings, excursions and activities, during which you may visit Norse ruins, sail into majestic fjords and go on community visits to picturesque towns.
Discover fjords, glaciers and ghostly mining towns as you spend three days exploring Southwest Greenland. This stretch of coast between the fjord systems of southern Greenland and Nuuk is as wild as can be. On your way north, get to know the landscapes of the so-called Mellembygden, look for the ghostly mining town of Ivittuut, sail into great fjords carved over millennia by massive glaciers and spot local wildlife, like seabirds, whales and musk oxen.
Get ready to explore the grand fjord system of the Nuup Kangerlua. These are the lands of the ancient Norse Western Settlement, the northernmost area colonised in the Middle Ages. During the next two days, explore the fjord system and enjoy the ever-changing mountain landscapes, while always looking for hiking, ice cruising and wildlife watching opportunities.
Today, arrive in Nuuk and say a fond farewell to your epic expedition. The Greenlandic capital is a metropolis compared to the towns you’ll have visited over the last couple of weeks, so take the opportunity to explore this vibrant city, before flying to the colourful city of Copenhagen for your one-night hotel stay
