Australia – Beijing

Welcome to Beijing! Upon arrival at the airport, a tour representative will be there to greet you and assist with the transfer to your hotel.

Beijing

Upon arrival in Beijing, you’ll be met by a tour representative and transferred to your hotel to relax and recover from your flight. The remainder of the day is free at leisure.

This evening, you may wish to attend the Golden Mask Dynasty show (optional), a grand and visually spectacular performance that tells a story of love and heroism through acrobatics, dance, and music.

Beijing – The Great Wall

Today’s highlight is a visit to the iconic Great Wall of China, one of the most recognizable symbols of China and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Travel to the Juyongguan section, an impressive and scenic stretch of the Wall that offers breathtaking views and a rich history.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, stop at a Jade Museum to learn about the cultural significance of jade in Chinese history.

This evening, you have the option to explore Beijing’s ancient Hutong alleyways—a 700-year-old network of narrow lanes that reflect traditional life in the city. This includes a Peking Duck banquet, a culinary highlight of your journey. Enjoy expertly roasted slices of duck wrapped in steamed pancakes with cucumber, spring onions, and sweet bean sauce, paired with a glass of wine.

Beijing – Xian

After breakfast, transfer to Beijing Railway Station and board the high-speed train to Xian, one of China’s ancient capitals. Upon arrival, a tour representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure, allowing you to explore at your own pace.

Xian

After breakfast, visit the Terracotta Army, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. See thousands of life-sized clay soldiers, each with unique facial expressions, buried to guard the tomb of China’s first emperor.

After lunch, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built in the 7th century, and later explore the impressive City Wall, one of the best-preserved city defences in the world.

In the evening, you may choose to enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show with a delicious dumpling banquet (optional), a feast of local flavours and a celebration of Xi’an’s imperial heritage.

Xian – Chengdu

This morning, transfer to the train station for your bullet train ride to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province and home of the Giant Pandas. On arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Chengdu

Today, visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, home to both Giant and Red Pandas. Learn about conservation efforts and watch these beloved animals in a naturalistic habitat.

In the afternoon, wander Kuangzhai Old Street, where historic architecture and modern life blend in a charming setting filled with shops and local eateries.

Chengdu

Chengdu – Shanghai – Suzhou

Take a morning flight to Shanghai, then transfer to Suzhou, often called the “Venice of the East.” This picturesque city is known for its classical gardens and silk industry.

Visit the Master of Nets Garden, a UNESCO-listed site known for its refined design, elegant pavilions, and tranquil water features.

Suzhou – Shanghai

Start the day with a visit to the Silk Spinning Factory, where you’ll witness the traditional process of silk-making from cocoon to finished quilt.

Then, transfer to Shanghai, China’s largest city. Walk along the historic Bund, where colonial architecture on one side of the Huangpu River contrasts with futuristic skyscrapers on the other.

In the evening, you may attend the ERA Acrobatic Show (optional), a dazzling performance combining Chinese acrobatics with multimedia and storytelling.

Fitness

A moderate level of fitness is required. You are required to move about unassisted, including boarding and exiting/disembarking vehicles and other forms of transportation, walking up and down flights of stairs, and navigating occasional uneven or steep terrain. If airport transfers are included, they may not always reach the hotel door, so short walks may be required of you. This trip is not suitable for travellers’ requiring wheelchair, mobility scooters or specialised facilities. Other walking aids may be permitted if you are able to move independently and keep pace with the group. Please note that there will be a fair amount of walking and some locations will have stairs. If you have any health concerns, let us know when booking so we can help confirm if this trip is suitable for you.
