Start your day with a local guide on a panoramic tour of London offering an introduction to the city’s most iconic sights. This morning we travel to Loch Ness, steeped in centuries of legend, Loch Ness stretches like a dark ribbon through the heart of the Scottish Highlands … home of the elusive Nessie. We then  continue our journey across the interior of Scotland, before stopping at Pitlochry, a small village that dates to the Victorian times and became popular as a tourist resort after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert purchased a highland estate at Balmoral in 1842. As we arrive in Edinburgh, you will be captivated by it’s cobbled streets, towering Edinburgh Castle, ready to explore the history, culture, and charm of Scotland.

This morning we leave Scotland and prepare to re-enter England as you travel south towards Yorkshire’s charming capital city, York. Today’s stops continue to explore the history and beauty of the Great Britain. The spectacular Bamburgh Castle that has been standing sentinel for over 1,400 years overlooking the angry North Sea in Northumberland, discover it’s treasure filled staterooms and The King’s Hall. Hadrian’s Wall, stretching 117km, dates to 122AD, soldiers and civilians from across Europe and North Africa met, traded and served together at this frontier the northern boundary of the Roman Empire. Pass through the ancient wall that surrounds York, discover Britain’s most majestic cathedral York Minster, wander the cobbled

streets of the Shambles, uncover the 10th century Viking history or why York is considered the most haunted city in Great Britain, you have time to explore it’s irrepressible charm at your own leisure.

You will be able to walk in the footsteps of Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Sylvia Plath and Stephen Fry and many more that have shaped the world we live in.

Cambridge – London 

After breakfast your Tour leader will take you on a short guided walk around Cambridge, before you will have free time to delve deeper into this beautiful university town, walk the cobbled streets, take a peek inside the stunning King’s College Chapel, watch time go by at the Corpus Clock, enjoy a punt on the Cam or head to the city’s historic Market Square, before making your way back to London and our final night of this Grand British tour.

Depart London

Farewell to London enjoy breakfast and say farewell to your new friends and at the appropriate time, make your own way to the airport for your flight home.

Pace
The pace of this tour is medium. The on-the-go nature of multi-country travel rewards you with maximum sightseeing opportunities and involves some early starts and long travel days. Scheduled free days allow some downtime, or alternatively, you have the flexibility to explore further and book optional programs directly with the Tour Leader. 

Fitness
A medium level of fitness and mobility is required. This tour involves a good amount of walking on some days and is not suitable for passengers that require mobility assistance, wheelchairs, scooters or walking aids.

Airport transfers, meals not stated, drinks on meals, optional programs, visas, UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (approx. GBP10 per person), travel insurance (strongly recommended), tipping, porterage, personal expenses and anything not explicitly specified are at your own expense. 

Payment
A first deposit from $499 per person is required to secure your booking. A second deposit (partial payment) is due 8 months before departure – the amount to be advised at the time of booking. The final balance will be due 5 months before departure. Full payment is due at the time of booking for departures within 5 months. 

Triple Share
Triple share is not available. 

Optional Programs  
Specially crafted optional programs provide flexibility for you to explore further. Optional programs are expertly guided and include dedicated coach transportation, admissions and more.  

Optional programs may require minimum numbers to operate and must be booked at least 3 months before departure. Optional bookings may still be booked in destination, but will be payable directly at the attraction in local currency, subject to availability.  

Optional programs are subject to change without notice due to adverse weather, seasonal factors, closures, local conditions, COVID-19 or other factors beyond our control.  

Extra Accommodation
Extend your stay with pre-accommodation or post-accommodation in London for one or two nights at the same hotel as the main tour, inclusive of breakfast, starting from $330 per room per night, subject to availability. Transfers are not included. The maximum stay is 2 nights and must be requested at least 90 days prior to departure. Standard tour amendment and cancellation fees apply to pre- and post-tour accommodation bookings. 

Child
This tour is best enjoyed by adult travellers and is generally not suitable for children under 10 years of age. Children 10 years and above are subject to the adult price and must be accompanied by an adult.

Change & Cancellation Fees
Changes for any reason will incur a fee of $110 per person per change in addition to any travel service provider fees. Cancellation for any reason will incur a fee of $550 per person in addition to any travel service provider fees. Travel service provider fees for the tour and air components of the package are dependent on the date of the change or cancellation as follows:  

  • 0-29 days before departure 100% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply 
  • 30-60 days before departure 65% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply 
  • 61-99 days before departure 50% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply 
  • 100-180 days before departure 30% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply 
  • 181+ days before departure 10% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply. 

 
Airfares are generally non-refundable but any refundable ticket taxes will be returned. Full details of the change and cancellation fees is outlined in the Terms & Conditions available on our website. 

Deviation
Any request to deviate from the original dates or routing, including early arrival and stay behind, is subject to a flight deviation fee from $150 per person plus applicable airfare and tax difference. 

Passport
For international travel, each customer must provide a copy of the passport photo page at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all names are full names exactly matched to the passport with six months validity beyond trip completion. The customer is liable for all fees due to incorrect names, invalid passport information and expired passports. 

Visa
Australian passport holders typically do not require a visa to Europe for tourism less than 90 days. Eligible Australian passport holders must obtain a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (approx. GBP10 per person at your own expense) if travelling to or transiting through the UK. Other passport holders may require a visa. It is your responsibility to check and satisfy all entry and exit requirements. You are liable for application fees and any costs associated with the failure to meet the entry and exit conditions. The itinerary is carefully designed to give a real insight into the highlights, culture and beauty of each location on the tour. Each day will be different, with a combination of travel days, sightseeing and free time to explore or take a breather as you wish. The operating schedule and itinerary may be impacted without notice by adverse weather, seasonal factors, closures, local conditions, COVID-19 or other factors beyond our control including force majeure. If attractions are not available due to reasons beyond our control such as closures or adverse weather, alternatives will be provided where possible. The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed appropriate by the operator for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation. Any reference to ‘optional’, ‘not included’ or ‘exclusions/excluded’ means at your own expense. Strict driving hours are implemented according to European Regulations of which have been worked into our planned itineraries. 

Baggage
Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on the coach tour, superseding any other baggage allowance. Excess baggage is not permitted. You are strongly encouraged to pack lightly. A light day bag or backpack is permitted on the coach. Porterage is not included and you are required to carry your own bags. Luggage and personal effects are your own risk and we hold no liability for lost or damaged belongings. 

Meals
Please notify us at the time of booking of any medical dietary requirements and allergies. We will pass on your requirements but cannot guarantee that they can be met as certain choices may be limited or not catered for. You are encouraged to reconfirm requirements with your Tour Leader whilst on tour. Breakfast at hotels is typically continental buffet style cold dishes and basic hot dishes. Other included meals are typically chosen to complement the local experience. 

Accommodation
A range of accommodation styles including hotels, resorts and lodges are carefully selected to suit the prevailing size of the group. The accommodation may not be located in the city or town centre but are typically chosen to be near public transport options. The suggested accommodation list is an indicative guide for the standard of accommodation and not necessarily representative of the location or property type. The actual accommodation list will differ, and the confirmed accommodation will be provided on your final documentation. The accommodation is typically local or self rated. All rooms are lead-in category or run of house unless otherwise specified. The standard check-in time is after 3pm and check-out is before 10am – actual times may vary. 

Tipping
Tipping for guides and drivers is discretionary and strongly recommended as a gesture of appreciation for the service provided. It is customary to tip at least £2 (GBP) per person per day each for the Tour Leader and driver at the end of the tour. 

Flights
The outbound flight may depart one day prior to day 1 shown on the itinerary. The inbound flight may arrive one day after the final day shown on the itinerary. Flights are booked approximately 8 to 10 months prior to departure. The flights included in your package are based on a specific predetermined airfare allowance. Should there be a significant increase in airfares, fuel levies, taxes or government fees at the time of booking flights, then an airfare supplement may be imposed. The flights team will discuss options with you prior to ticketing, should this situation arise. Flights may not operate daily or directly to your destination. No show of any flight sectors will result in the automatic cancellation of all onward flights by the airline. 

Fuel
In the unlikely event of a significant increase in fuel costs levied by third-party air, land and cruise transportation operators before travel, a fuel supplement may be passed on to the customer.

This holiday will proceed with a minimum group size of approximately 30 passengers and a maximum group size of approximately 48 passengers. If the trip does not operate, you will be offered a credit. Optional programs may require minimum numbers to operate. 

Tour Leader
Your Tour Leader will be experienced, friendly and passionate to share each destination with you. They will be on hand to offer suggestions for extra activities, local dining options and more while you are on tour. 

Transfers
Airport transfers are not included. 

Breakaway
Customers must remain with the tour group at all times and must not leave the tour unless written approval is provided before departure. 

Documentation
Final documentation will be emailed within two weeks of the tour commencement date, not factoring any pre-accommodation requests. For packages consisting of multiple tours, documentation will be emailed individually within two weeks of the tour commencement date of each respective tour. 

Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is not included and is strongly recommended. Ask our holiday experts for great coverage options. 

Force Majeure
Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control. In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, the supplier reserves the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
