Today join your Tour Leader and group for an orientation tour of London. Start in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, a UNESCO-listed area known for its maritime history, the Cutty Sark, and the Prime Meridian. Then, continue to Westminster, where you’ll see iconic landmarks like the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey. Meet up with your fellow travellers in the evening for a group dinner at a traditional local pub.

London - Paris

Depart London after breakfast this morning and cross the English Channel en route to Paris, ‘The City of Lights and Love’. Enjoy lunch in the historic port city of Calais (at your own expense). Conclude the evening with a driving tour of Paris, passing many of the city’s most treasured landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Arc de Triomphe.

Paris

Enjoy a full day in Paris today, free to explore however you choose. Follow the Seine River from neighbourhood to neighbourhood as it flows through the heart of the city at your own leisure. Alternatively, choose an optional river cruise (at your own expense) to float past the grandeur of the Louvre and Grand Palais, and catch a glimpse of the Notre Dame Cathedral and epic Eiffel Tower. Famous architecture and legendary landmarks are scattered throughout the compact city, along with elegant shops and sophisticated cafes. Your Tour Leader will enlighten you with local knowledge on how best to spend your time, including recommendations of special places to eat and drink.

Paris - Normandy

After breakfast, travel north to Normandy and the seaside resort of Arromanches-les-Bains, linked inextricably with the liberation of western Europe following D-Day. Despite all its sombre reminders of World War II, Arromanches exudes charm with sandy beaches, cliff walks, and D-Day dedicated museums. Then, visit Longues-sur-Mer battery for a photo stop, a key site of the Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches offering a well-preserved look at Germany’s Atlantic Wall defences. Tonight, dinner is included at a local restaurant.

Normandy - Chambord - Tours

Today, we make our way south to Tours. On the way, stop at the charming town of Blois for lunch (at your own expense). Then, immerse yourself in the beauty and history of Château de Chambord (entrance is included). Chambord is the largest and most extravagant castle in the Loire Valley, a true masterpiece of French Renaissance architecture. Designed by Leonardo da Vinci and built by King Francis I in the 16th century, the UNESCO listed castle features a unique double helix staircase and is a symbol of royal grandeur.

Tours 

After a restful night in Tours, wake up refreshed and ready to explore the charming city on your free day or join an optional excursion at your own expense. Tours is the great capital of the Loire Valley, its old quarters, which take visitors on a wonderful journey back in time. Explore the narrow-cobbled streets, half-timbered French houses and the stone façade of the monumental Saint-Gatien Cathedral, which give the city a charming medieval air. A visit to Tours is not complete without sampling its many gourmet bistros; you should taste the nougat of Tours or the “poires tapées” (dried pears) – genuinely unique!

Enjoy breakfast, then we will make our way towards Bordeaux, in the south-west of France. Then, soak up the jaw-dropping sights of Bordeaux on a Tour Leader led city tour. Enjoy a free day in Bordeaux or join an optional excursion at your own expense. There’s a lot more to Bordeaux beyond the vineyards. Situated along the Garonne River, Bordeaux feels almost like a mini version of Paris, offering an intoxicating mix of rich historical heritage and modernity, famed for its vineyards, gastronomy, and unique art de vivre.

Depart Bordeaux and travel south-east across France to Carcassonne. Arriving in Carcassonne, your Tour Leader will give you an orientation tour of the city. Its medieval charm, winding streets and impressive fortifications will transport you back in time.

Carcassonne - Barcelona

Today, we farewell France and travel across the border into Spain. Our first stop will be Figueres, situated on the Costa Brava, this town has deep Catalan roots and is known as the home of Salvador Dali. After our stop in Figueres, our journey continues to Barcelona, the cradle of Catalan culture and mecca of Gaudi modernism. A driving tour of the city passing by Sagrada Familia, Port Vell and Columbus Monument is a preview of the attractions waiting to be discovered on your free day tomorrow. Conclude the evening with a dinner in a local restaurant.

Barcelona

Go out and explore on your free day in Barcelona. Consider a visit to the Gothic Quarter and lose yourself among the Roman and medieval alleyways. Stroll down La Rambla and see the terraces, street artists, florists and kiosks spread out along the road and follow it all the way to the Colombus Monument. No visit to Barcelona would be complete without taking in the work of Gaudi. You have so many choices from the iconic Basilica of La Sagrada Familia to Park Güell or take the cable car to Montjuïc mountain for spectacular views of the city.

After enjoying breakfast in Tuscany, you will have the opportunity to taste Italian wines from this region. Your journey continues to the heart of Umbria, Assisi, famous as the birthplace of Saint Francis of Assisi. This is where you can see the Basilica di San Francesco that is now a UNESCO World Heritage site and holds vast significance in the Christian world. After an included dinner, your overnight stop in Assisi will recharge you for a journey to one of the most stunning stretches of coast in Italy, the Amalfi Coast.

Pace

The pace of this tour is medium-fast. The on-the-go nature of multi-country travel rewards you with maximum sightseeing opportunities and involves early starts and long travel days. Scheduled free days allow some downtime, or alternatively, you have the flexibility to explore further and book optional programs directly with the Tour Leader.

Fitness

A medium level of fitness and mobility is required. This tour involves a good amount of walking on some days and is not suitable for passengers that require mobility assistance, wheelchairs, scooters or walking aids.

Our elegant coaches are equipped with safety belts, reclining seats, air conditioning, onboard toilets, huge windows and plenty of legroom to ensure that your tour is a pleasure from the moment you set foot on the coach.

Exclusions

Airport transfers, meals not stated, drinks on meals, optional programs, visas, UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (approx. GBP10 per person), travel insurance (strongly recommended), tipping, porterage, personal expenses and anything not explicitly specified are at your own expense.

Payment

A first deposit from $499 per person is required to secure your booking. A second deposit (partial payment) is due 10 months before departure – the amount to be advised at the time of booking. The final balance will be due 5 months before departure. Full payment is due at the time of booking for departures within 5 months.

Triple Share

Triple share is not available.

Extra Accommodation

Extend your stay with pre-accommodation in London or post-accommodation in Rome for one or two nights at the same hotel as the main tour, inclusive of breakfast, starting from $400 per room per night, subject to availability. Transfers are not included. The maximum stay is 2 nights and must be requested at least 60 days prior to departure. Standard tour amendment and cancellation fees apply to pre- and post-tour accommodation bookings.

Child

This tour is best enjoyed by adult travellers and is generally not suitable for children under 10 years of age. Children 10 years and above are subject to the adult price and must be accompanied by an adult.

Price

Surcharges may apply for select travel periods and departure cities. Prices are correct at time of publication and are subject to availability, change, cancellation or withdrawal without notice. All prices are in Australian dollars per person twin share unless stated otherwise.

Change & Cancellation Fees

Changes for any reason will incur a fee of $110 per person per change in addition to any travel service provider fees. Cancellation for any reason will incur a fee of $550 per person in addition to any travel service provider fees. Travel service provider fees for the tour and air components of the package are dependent on the date of the change or cancellation as follows:

  • 0-29 days before departure 100% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply
  • 30-60 days before departure 65% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply
  • 61-99 days before departure 50% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply
  • 100-180 days before departure 30% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply
  • 181+ days before departure 10% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply.

Airfares are generally non-refundable but any refundable ticket taxes will be returned. Full details of the change and cancellation fees is outlined in the Terms & Conditions available on our website.

Deviation

Any request to deviate from the original dates or routing, including early arrival and stay behind, is subject to a flight deviation fee from $150 per person plus applicable airfare and tax difference.

Passport

For international travel, each customer must provide a copy of the passport photo page at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all names are full names exactly matched to the passport with six months validity beyond trip completion. The customer is liable for all fees due to incorrect names, invalid passport information and expired passports.

Visa

Australian passport holders typically do not require a visa to Europe for tourism less than 90 days. Eligible Australian passport holders must obtain a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (approx.GBP10 per person at your own expense) if travelling to or transiting through the UK. Other passport holders may require a visa. It is your responsibility to check and satisfy all entry and exit requirements. You are liable for application fees and any costs associated with the failure to meet the entry and exit conditions. This advice is correct at the time of publication and is subject to change. You are required to move about unassisted, including boarding and alighting vehicles and other forms of transportation, walking up and down flights of stairs, and navigating occasional uneven or steep terrain. The operating schedule and itinerary may be impacted without notice by adverse weather, seasonal factors, closures, local conditions, COVID-19 or other factors beyond our control including force majeure. If attractions are not available due to reasons beyond our control such as closures or adverse weather, alternatives will be provided where possible. The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed appropriate by the operator for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation. Any reference to ‘optional’, ‘not included’ or ‘exclusions/excluded’ means at your own expense. Strict driving hours are implemented according to European Regulations of which have been worked into our planned itineraries.

Optional Programs

Optional programs must be booked directly with the guide and paid in the local currency. A list of optional programs will be provided on your final documentation or during the tour. Baggage

Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on the coach tour, superseding any other baggage allowance. Excess baggage is not permitted. You are strongly encouraged to pack lightly. A light day bag or backpack is permitted on the coach. Porterage is not included and you are required to carry your own bags. Luggage and personal effects are your own risk and we hold no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

Please notify us at the time of booking of any medical dietary requirements and allergies. We will pass on your requirements but cannot guarantee that they can be met as certain choices may be limited or not catered for. You are encouraged to reconfirm requirements with your Tour Leader whilst on tour. Breakfast at hotels is typically continental buffet style cold dishes and basic hot dishes. Other included meals are typically chosen to complement the local experience.

Accommodation

A range of accommodation styles including hotels, resorts and lodges are carefully selected to suit the prevailing size of the group. The accommodation may not be located in the city or town centre but are typically chosen to be near public transport options. The suggested accommodation list is an indicative guide for the standard of accommodation and not necessarily representative of the location or property type. The actual accommodation list will differ, and the confirmed accommodation will be provided on your final documentation. The accommodation is typically local or self rated. All rooms are lead-in category or run of house unless otherwise specified. The standard check-in time is after 3pm and check-out is before 10am – actual times may vary.

Tipping

Tipping for guides and drivers is discretionary and strongly recommended as a gesture of appreciation for the service provided. It is customary to tip at least €5 (Euro) per person per day each for the Tour Leader and driver at the end of the tour.

The outbound flight may depart one day prior to day 1 shown on the itinerary. The inbound flight may arrive one day after the final day shown on the itinerary. Flights are booked approximately 8 to 10 months prior to departure. The flights included in your package are based on a specific predetermined airfare allowance. Should there be a significant increase in airfares, fuel levies, taxes or government fees at the time of booking flights, then an airfare supplement may be imposed. The flights team will discuss options with you prior to ticketing, should this situation arise. Flights may not operate daily or directly to your destination. No show of any flight sectors will result in the automatic cancellation of all onward flights by the airline.

Fuel

In the unlikely event of a significant increase in fuel costs levied by third-party air, land and cruise transportation operators before travel, a fuel supplement may be passed on to the customer.

Coach

Our elegant coaches are equipped with safety belts, reclining seats, air-conditioning, onboard toilets, huge windows and plenty of legroom to ensure that your tour is a pleasure from the moment you set foot on the coach and throughout your journey.

Group Size

You will meet like-minded travellers on tour and may even make lifelong friends. This holiday will proceed with a minimum group size of approximately 30 passengers and a maximum group size of approximately 48 passengers. If the trip does not operate, you will be offered a credit. Optional programs may require minimum numbers to operate.

Tour Leader

Your Tour Leader will be experienced, friendly and passionate to share each destination with you. They will be on hand to offer suggestions for extra activities, local dining options and more while you are on tour.

Transfers

Airport transfers are not included.

Breakaway

Customers must remain with the tour group at all times and must not leave the tour unless written approval is provided before departure.

Documentation

Final documentation will be emailed within two weeks of the tour commencement date, not factoring any pre-accommodation requests. For packages consisting of multiple tours, documentation will be emailed individually within two weeks of the tour commencement date of each respective tour.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is not included and is strongly recommended. Ask our holiday experts for great coverage options.

Force Majeure

Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control. In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, the supplier reserves the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
