Welcome to Cape Town! A transfer is included from the airport to the hotel. Your tour leader will be on hand this afternoon at the hotel in the lobby for any questions.  Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax or take some time to explore the city.

 
Cape Town - Table Mountain - Dinner & Drums

Early risers can start the day with an optional hike up Lion’s Head rewarded with a sunrise view over the city. Later, meet up with the group for a guided tour of Cape Town’s most iconic sights, including a ride on the Table Mountain cableway (weather permitting) for those wow worthy panoramas. In the evening, get into the rhythm with a fun, interactive African drumming session, followed by a tasty traditional dinner to round off the day.

Cape Peninsula - Coastal Adventure

Today, set out on a full-day Cape Peninsula tour, packed with coastal scenery and fun-filled experiences. Enjoy a boat cruise and kayaking adventure in Hout Bay, where you may spot playful seals and marine life. There’s free time for lunch at the lively Harbour Market, before heading to Boulders Beach to see the penguins waddling along the shore.

Stellenbosch Region - Sandboarding & Babylonstoren

Kick off the day with an early start and head to the Atlantis Dunes, where it’s time for a guided sandboarding adventure (sit or stand on the boards) as you take on the dunes —guaranteed laughs for kids and adults alike. Then swap sand for scenery as you travel into the Cape Winelands to visit the beautiful Babylonstoren gardens. Step into Soetmelksvlei, a lively farm village where the past comes to life— try your hand at old-fashioned activities and harvest-style lunch, then enjoy free time to explore the grounds. Later, check in to your peaceful stay in the Stellenbosch region, with the evening yours to relax, unwind, and soak up the fresh country air.

Enjoy an easy morning before leaving the lush Winelands behind and heading into the rugged beauty of the Klein Karoo. Stop in the quirky town of Barrydale to stretch your legs and enjoy lunch (own expense), before continuing to your accommodation in or near Oudtshoorn.

Knysna - Cango Caves to the Coast

Start the day with a visit to the Cango Caves, where you’ll explore vast underground chambers filled with dramatic rock formations and interesting stories from the past. Then it’s time to hit the road, leaving the Klein Karoo behind as you journey towards the lush landscapes of the Garden Route. Arrive in the coastal town of Knysna and check in to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day soaking up the views or strolling the Knysna Waterfront at your own pace.

Knysna – Free Day

Spend the day exploring Knysna and its beautiful surroundings at your own pace. Take in scenic viewpoints, browse local markets & discover nature spots.  Choose to join the optional Featherbed Eco Experience (extra cost)—including a ferry ride across the lagoon to a private nature reserve on the Knysna Heads, a guided 4WD nature drive, an optional walk, and lunch served under the shade of milkwood trees.

Garden Route – Addo Region - Walk with Giraffes

Travel along the scenic Garden Route today as you make your way from Knysna towards Addo Elephant National Park. Along the way, you can choose to visit Monkeyland , a unique sanctuary where primates roam freely around you— an experience for all ages. Alternatively, bird lovers may prefer a visit to the nearby Birds of Eden. (Birds or Monkeys & lunch – extra cost) After a scenic drive, stop for lunch in a coastal town. This afternoon encounters an incredible wildlife experience—a guided walk to see giraffes in the wild, observe these gentle giants at a respectful distance in their natural bushveld habitat. Continue to your accommodation near Addo, where you can settle in with dinner included to end the day.

Days are active but well-paced, with plenty of variety—from coastal adventures like kayaking and penguin spotting, to fun outdoor thrills and interactive farm visits. Payment
A first deposit from $299 per person/child is required to secure your booking. A second deposit (partial payment) is due 10 months before departure – the amount to be advised at the time of booking. The final balance will be due 5 months before departure. Full payment is due at the time of booking for departures within 5 months.

Fitness for Families
This tour is designed to be active for families, with a moderate level of fitness recommended. You’ll be walking between sights, exploring outdoor areas, taking part in fun activities, sitting in 4WD vehicles, and embracing a sense of adventure along the way.

Families should feel comfortable moving around independently and managing their own luggage when travelling between hotels and transport points.

While the itinerary isn’t suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scooters due to limited accessibility, we’re always happy to guide you—other mobility aids may be suitable if you’re able to keep pace with the group.

Pace
This tour strikes a balance between adventure and relaxation. Expect plenty of exciting experiences and sightseeing, with a few early starts and some scenic travel days along the way—all part of the journey! There’s also time to slow things down, with free time to relax, explore at your own pace, or add on extra adventures with optional activities (additional cost).

Extra Nights
Pre or post tour accommodation at the tour hotel in Cape Town and Johannesburg can be pre booked. Option to extend your stay for 3 nights to explore Pilanesberg National Park with a Sun City Day pass.

Child
This tour is best enjoyed by families with children over 6 years old. Children under 6 years old will not be able to participate in all the activities and safaris. Children 12 years and above are subject to the adult price and must be accompanied by an adult.

Deviation
Any request to deviate from the original dates or routing, including early arrival and stay behind, is subject to a flight deviation fee from $150 per person plus applicable airfare and tax difference. Packaged tour extensions are not subject to the deviation fee (applicable airfare and tax difference may still apply) if booked according to the original advertised dates and routing.

Passport
For international travel, each customer must provide a copy of the passport photo page at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all names are full names exactly matched to the passport with six months validity beyond trip completion. The customer is liable for all fees due to incorrect names, invalid passport information and expired passports.

Visa
South Africa
A visa is not required for Australian passport holders for the purpose of short-term tourist.

All visa requirements mentioned above are subject to change. Visa requirements for each origin and destination country are the responsibility of the customer to check and obtain (if required) with the local consulate or embassy. All nationalities must check with consulate and embassies for requirements. The customer is liable for all visa application costs and fees due to the failure to obtain the required travel documents.

Health
It is the responsibility of the customer to check and comply with the health, vaccination, COVID-19 and immigration requirements of each origin and destination country, and health requirements imposed by air, tour, cruise and accommodation providers. Vaccinations, testing and quarantine costs are the expense of the customer. Comprehensive travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage is strongly recommended.

Price
Surcharges may apply for select travel periods and departure cities. Prices are correct at time of publication and are subject to availability, change, cancellation or withdrawal without notice. All prices are in Australian dollars per person twin share unless stated otherwise.

Baggage
Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on the coach tour, superseding any other baggage allowance. Excess baggage is not permitted. You are strongly encouraged to pack lightly. A light day bag or backpack is permitted on the coach. Porterage is not included, and you are required to carry your own bags. Luggage and personal effects are your own risk, and we hold no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

Meals
Please notify us at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements and allergies. We will pass on your requirements but cannot guarantee that they can be met as certain choices may be limited or not catered for. You are encouraged to reconfirm requirements with your tour leader whilst on tour. Breakfast at hotels is typically continental buffet style cold dishes and basic hot dishes.

Accommodation
Our accommodations are comfortable 3-to 4 star hotels, with specific hotel names provided as a guide to the standard you can expect. Hotels are subject to change and final hotel details will be confirmed in your documentation. Rooms are standard category unless noted otherwise, with check-in typically after 3 PM and check-out by 10 AM (subject to variation). Amenities can differ by region, and in-room features like fridges or kettles may not always be available. While most hotels offer Wi-Fi, connections near national parks and game parks can sometimes be unreliable. 

Tipping
For guides and drivers is discretionary and recommended as a gesture of appreciation for the service provided. It is customary to tip the tour leader and driver at the end of the tour from 100 ZAR per person/per day for adults (kids are usually included). It is common to tip 10 to 15% on restaurant bills. Any optional tours booked include a small tip as well.

Flights
The outbound flight may depart one day prior to day 1 shown on the itinerary. The inbound flight may arrive one day after the final day shown on the itinerary. Flights are booked 10 months prior to departure. The flights included in your package are based on a specific predetermined airfare allowance. Should there be a significant increase in airfares, fuel levies, taxes or government fees at the time of booking flights, then an airfare supplement may be imposed. The flights team will discuss options with you prior to ticketing, should this situation arise. Flights may not operate daily or directly to your destination. No show of any flight sectors will result in the automatic cancellation of all onward flights by the airline. 

Fuel
In the event of a significant increase in fuel costs levied by third-party air, land and cruise transportation operators before travel, a fuel supplement may be passed on to the customer. 

Transfers 
Airport transfers are included in Cape Town and Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). On your departure day, we have included one group transfer to the Port Elizabeth airport, for your flight to Johannesburg where you connect for your flight home.  If your flight doesn’t line up with this transfer time, you’ll need to make your own way to the airport. 

Group Size
This holiday will proceed with a minimum group size considered suitable for an optimal group tour experience. If the trip does not operate, you will be offered a credit. Max group size is 30 people. 

Optional Tours
Optional tours must be booked directly with the guide on tour and paid in the local currency ZAR for South Africa and may be subject to minimum numbers to operate. Tours may be paid by cash or card.   International fees may be incurred if using a credit or debit card. 

Outdoor Activities
Activities are subject to weather, safety, and operational conditions, and their duration, routing, and delivery may vary; if activities are restricted or unable to operate, no refunds or compensation will be provided. Weather-dependent activities such as kayaking and sandboarding may be replaced with alternative tours where possible, however no refunds will apply. 

Itinerary
The operating schedule and itinerary may be impacted without notice by adverse weather, seasonal factors, closures, local conditions, COVID-19 or other factors beyond our control including force majeure. If attractions are not available due to reasons beyond our control such as closures or adverse weather, alternatives will be provided where possible. The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed appropriate by the operator for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation. Any reference to ‘optional’, ‘not included’ or ‘exclusions/excluded’ means at your own expense. 

Breakaway
Customers must always remain with the tour group and must not leave the tour unless written approval is provided before departure. 

Documentation
Final documentation will be emailed no later than 30 days before departure. 

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is not included and is strongly recommended. Ask our holiday experts for great coverage options. 

Force Majeure
Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control. In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, the supplier reserves the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip. 

Change & Cancellation Fees
Changes for any reason will incur a fee of $110 per person per change in addition to any travel service provider fees. Cancellation for any reason will incur a fee of $550 per person in addition to any travel service provider fees. Travel service provider fees for the tour and air components of the package are dependent on the date of the change or cancellation as follows:

  • 0-29 days before departure 100% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply;
  • 30-60 days before departure 65% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply;
  • 61-99 days before departure 50% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply;
  • 100-180 days before departure 30% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply;
  • 181+ days before departure 10% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply.

Airfares are generally non-refundable but any refundable ticket taxes will be returned. Full details of the change and cancellation fees is outlined in the Terms & Conditions available on our website.
