Polar Pioneer

Polar Pioneer is one of the most renowned expedition ships in Antarctica. Originally commissioned as a research vessel in Finland before a refurbishment and transformation into a passenger ship, your onboard experience will be exclusive and intimate with just 48 passengers joined by 35 crew.  

The Polar Pioneer crew are experts with decades of experience in polar waters and the vessel also has a medic and clinic onboard. 

Onboard Experiences 

Polar Pioneer features a range of cabin options, expansive viewing platforms, lounge bar, two dining rooms, sauna, laundry service as well as a satellite phone and email access.  

The ship has six zodiacs so that all guests can explore simultaneously, with boots provided when going ashore. The incredible scenery and wildlife on this once in a lifetime experience will be etched in your memory long after your holiday is over, with onshore encounters bringing breathtaking opportunities to see whales, penguins, glaciers and much more. 

Accommodation offers triple, twin and suite cabins all with portholes or windows and a choice of shared or private facilities.

Onboard Dining 

Relax with your favourite beverage in the large saloon bar and enjoy wholesome and delicious food in the dining room where menus are crafted by a passionate team of European chefs.  There are also vegetarian and vegan dining options available.
