Cape Town City Tour

This afternoon set off on a city tour, including the Castle of Good Hope, St George’s Cathedral and a chance to wander through the colourful streets of Cape Malay. After a stop at Company’s Gardens, finish the tour at the hotel to freshen up before the included Welcome Dinner tonight.

Cape Town Free Day

Take it easy today, with breakfast provided at your hotel and the full day free for your own relaxation and exploration of Cape Town and surrounds, including Robben Island and Table Mountain. Alternatively, you may like to join an optional Cape Point and Peninsula Day tour (extra cost)

Cape Town - Robertson - Oudtshoorn

This morning travel to the Spice Route, where vineyards and local artisan shops showcase their culinary delights.  There is the opportunity for some chocolate tasting along the way (own expense). Discover the Lan Kloof valley, tracing Route 62 through picturesque mountains ranges and stop for a cheese and wine tasting.  Arrive late afternoon in the Karoo region where we stay for the night.

Oudtshoorn - Knysna

Start the day with a heritage walking tour to one of South Africa’s hidden treasures, the Cango Caves. The series of dripstone caverns are more than 20 million years old. Continue to a working ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn and learn about these big, feathered animals. After lunch travel towards the coast to Knysna, in the heart of the Garden Route

Knysna - Tsitsikamma National Park & Storms River

Today we discover the great outdoors; the Tsitsikamma forest forms part of the greater Garden Route National Park. The area encompasses rivers, gorges, mountains, lush forests and plantations. Options include tree-top canopy tours, the Woodcutters trail driver or a bush walk to learn more about the fauna and flora in this region. Then drive to the Storms River mouth in Tsitsikamma National Park. Take a walk along the coast or cross the longest suspension river in South Africa.  End the day with an animal adventure visiting a multi species monkey sanctuary or the world’s largest free flight aviary before returning to Knysna for the evening.

Knysna - Private Game Reserve - Mossel Bay

This morning is free time in Knysna, or you might like to explore the beautiful harbour on a cruise along Knysna Bay with spectacular views of the area. Continue along the Garden Route to Botlierskop for a unique safari experience in a private game reserve.  Enjoy close encounters with impala, wildebeest, rhinos, lions, giraffes and more! This evening, we continue our coastal drive to Mossel Bay.

Mossel Bay - Swellendam - Hermanus

After breakfast visit the Pinnacle Caves, an archaeological site with early evidence of modern human behaviour in fossil findings dated as far back as 170,000 years ago. On the way to Swellendam stop at Albertinia to visit Cape Aloe Vera farm. Taste aloe tea, sample facial cream and learn more about this indigenous plant. There is free time for lunch is in beautiful Swellendam. Taste authentic Boerekos (traditional farmer’s food), or perhaps some Springbok (venison) carpaccio.  End in Hermanus village where we stay for the evening.

Hermanus - Stellenbosch - Cape Winelands - Cape Town

Following breakfast, take a scenic drive through the Cape wine region. South Africa has the oldest wine industry outside of Europe. Taste South Africa’s signature wine: Pinotage and learn about Cape district wines from a local wine expert. Next stop is Stellenbosch town in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Explore the Cape Dutch architecture and many laid-back coffee shops, boutiques and art galleries. Tonight, return to Cape Town

Fly from Cape Town to Kruger National Park Region

This morning, fly from Cape Town to Kruger National Park. Start your exploration of the vast Kruger National Park as your tour travels through the park today. Look for animals, from the vantage point of your air conditioned and elevated coach seat. The Kruger National Park stretches over 20,000 square km – nearly the size of Belgium. Watch out for wild animals like cheetahs, wild dogs, leopards, elephants and the white and black rhino. The first experience in the African bush awaits as dinner is served under the African sky this evening.

Kruger Park National Region Wildlife Safari

Join a full day 4WD safari in an open sided vehicle today. Your expert, safari guide will help you identify the wildlife and fauna easily seen from your comfortable open-sided vehicle. The day includes Rest Camp stops and boundless opportunities to spot the famous African Big Five – elephant, leopard, buffalo, rhino and of course lion. This incredible day includes lunch in the park and conservation fees.

Kruger National Park Free Day

Take advantage of free time to enjoy the bushland surrounds and poolside your lodge today. Or choose a further full or half-day safari (not included). This evening watch the African sunset in the bush, and you may like to spend time around the campfire exchanging safari stories.

Kruger National Park – Panorama Route – Johannesburg

Leave the Kruger National Park behind, via the Panorama Route through the Mpumalanga province. The first destination is the renowned Three Rondavels viewpoint with a stunning vista over the Blyde River Canyon. Next is Bourke’s Luck potholes, a natural water feature with hundreds of natural potholes and plunge pools. Look out for Kruger and Mozambique, visible in the distance on a clear day. Continue the final leg of the tour into Johannesburg.

Depart Johannesburg to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and say goodbye to your Tour Leader in South Africa. Take the complimentary transfer to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls.

A representative will meet at the Victoria Falls airport and transfer to your hotel. Settle in and relax after your journey.  This evening experience the Zambezi River at sunset. Enjoy the tranquil water, and sip on refreshing drinks.  This is the perfect way to begin your adventure in this region.

Victoria Falls Tour and Boma Dinner

After breakfast explore one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Your guide will lead you through the lush rainforest, providing insights into the history and geology of the falls. Feel the mist from the falls and capture stunning photos of the cascades. The afternoon is free to explore the local markets or relax at your hotel. In the evening savour a traditional Boma African feast with drum show and dancing.

Full Day Chobe National Park, Botswana

Early start as we cross the border into Botswana for a full day in Chobe National Park. Known for its abundant wildlife embark on an exciting 4WD safari.  Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo and a variety of bird species. After a lunch break cruise along the Chobe River on a boat safari, and watch the hippos, crocodiles and elephants along the riverbanks. Head back to your hotel in Victoria Falls for a relaxing evening.

Victoria Falls to Johannesburg, South Africa

This morning is free for a leisurely breakfast. A representative will transfer you from your hotel to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight back to Johannesburg for your last night in South Africa.

Exclusions

Flights, airport transfers, meals not stated, drinks on meals, optional programs, visas (if required), travel insurance (strongly recommended), tipping, personal expenses and anything not explicitly specified are at your own expense.

Payment

A first deposit from $499 per person is required to secure your booking. A second deposit (partial payment) is due 10 months before departure – the amount to be advised at the time of booking. The final balance will be due 5 months before departure. Full payment is due at the time of booking for departures within 5 months.

Fitness

A moderate level of fitness is required. You are required to move about unassisted walking up and down flights of stairs, and navigating occasional uneven or steep terrain. You will be required to carry your own bags to and from hotels, stations and terminals. This trip is not suitable for travellers requiring wheelchair, mobility scooters or facilities for disabled guests. Other walking aids may be permitted if you are able move about unassisted at the required pace. For advice on whether this trip is suitable for you, you are required to disclose physical ailments at the time of booking.

Pace

The pace of this tour is lively. The on-the-go nature of this trip rewards you with maximum sightseeing opportunities but involves early starts and several long travel days – see the itinerary for distances travelled. One to two nights at each destination is standard. Scheduled free days allow some downtime, or alternatively, you have the flexibility to explore further and book optional tours (at your own expense).

Solo Occupancy

A single supplement from $2200 per person is payable in addition to the twin share price for solo occupancy.

Triple share is not available.

Extra Accommodation

Pre or post tour accommodation for one or two people in Cape Town at the same tour hotel or similar area, can be added with rates from $250 per room per night, subject to availability.

Child

This tour is best enjoyed by adult travellers and is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Children 12 years and above are subject to the adult price and must be accompanied by an adult.

Price

Surcharges may apply for select travel periods and departure cities. Prices are correct at time of publication and are subject to availability, change, cancellation or withdrawal without notice. All prices are in Australian dollars per person twin share unless stated otherwise.

Amendment

Each amendment is subject to a non-refundable fee from $75 per person. Additional fees and fare differences from third-party suppliers including air, tour, cruise and accommodation providers may apply.

Cancellation

Cancellation at any time is subject to a non-refundable fee from $550 per person. Additional fees and fare differences from third-party suppliers including air, tour, cruise and accommodation providers may apply.

Deviation

Any request to deviate from the original dates or routing, including early arrival and stay behind, is subject to a flight deviation fee from $150 per person plus applicable airfare and tax difference. Packaged tour extensions are not subject to the deviation fee (applicable airfare and tax difference may still apply) if booked according to the original advertised dates and routing.

Passport

For international travel, each customer must provide a copy of the passport photo page at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all names are full names exactly matched to the passport with six months validity beyond trip completion. The customer is liable for all fees due to incorrect names, invalid passport information and expired passports.

Visa

South Africa – A visa is not required for Australian passport holders for the purpose of short-term tourist.

Zimbabwe – Australian passport holders need a visa to enter Zimbabwe. A 30-day tourist via is available on arrival, for a fee for USD 30.

Botswana – A visa is not required for Australian passport holders if you’re a tourist visiting for up to 90 days.

All visa requirements mentioned above are subject to change. Visa requirements for each origin and destination country are the responsibility of the customer to check and obtain (if required) with the local consulate or embassy. The customer is liable for all visa application costs and fees due to the failure to obtain the required travel documents.

Health

It is the responsibility of the customer to check and comply with the health, vaccination, COVID-19 and immigration requirements of each origin and destination country, and health requirements imposed by air, tour, cruise and accommodation providers. Vaccinations, testing and quarantine costs are the expense of the customer. Comprehensive travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage is strongly recommended.

Baggage

Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on the coach tour, superseding any other baggage allowance. Excess baggage is not permitted. You are strongly encouraged to pack lightly. A light day bag or backpack is permitted on the coach. Porterage is not included, and you are required to carry your own bags. Luggage and personal effects are your own risk, and we hold no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

Please notify us at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements and allergies. We will pass on your requirements but cannot guarantee that they can be met as certain choices may be limited or not catered for. Accommodation

A range of accommodation styles including hotels, resorts and lodges are carefully selected to suit the prevailing size of the group. The accommodation may not be located in the city or town centre but are typically chosen to be near public transport options. Accommodation names referenced are to be used as an indicative guide for the standard of accommodation to expect. Actual accommodation names may differ and will be confirmed on your final documentation. All hotel ratings are local or self-ratings provided by the supplier. All rooms are lead-in category or run of house unless otherwise specified. The standard check-in time is after 3pm and check-out is before 10am – actual times may vary.

Tipping

Tipping for guides and drivers is discretionary and recommended as a gesture of appreciation for the service provided. It is customary to tip the tour leader and driver at the end of the tour from AUD5 per person/per day.  10 to 15% on restaurant bills.
